#10 | How To Decide Faster | Tech Events

  1. Personal:

Hey there! Decision-making, believe it or not, is both an art and a talent. The good news is, it's also like a muscle that gets stronger with practice. In this friendly little newsletter, I am going to chat about how to sharpen your decision-making skills and stop sweating the small stuff that doesn't affect the big picture.

“If I’m faced with a difficult choice, such as: Should I marry this person?Should I take this job? Should I buy this house? Should I move to this city?Should I go into business with this person? If you cannot decide, the answer is no. And the reason is, modern society is full of options.” — Naval Ravikant

Let's go!

  1. App:

Two apps that will help you with any decision

  • Protagonist: a clear, easy-to-use tool designed to help you and your team make better decisions. It's similar to a project management tool, but it's designed for making big decisions like hiring someone or buying a car. You can input various criteria and see how much each one matters visually.
  • Definitive Choice: making a choice can be hard with many things to think about. This app helps you sort out your ideas when you need a clear view. You can add lots of options and standards, and then rate them. When you finish, the app will do the math and suggest a choice based on your ratings.
  1. Media:

Here is an excellent selection of books to learn and inspire you about the decision-making process.

"Success emerges from the quality of the decisions we make and the quantity of luck we receive. We can't control luck. But we can control the way we make choices.”
“Learning to choose is hard. Learning to choose well is harder. And learning to choose well in a world of unlimited possibilities is harder still, perhaps too hard.”
