#23 | AI Tools to Supercharge Your Productivity | The Venture Mindset | London/NYC Tech Week | The Power of Storytelling

Personal:

Lots of people try to be bold or chase goals that don't match their own values. But it's better to aim for being true to yourself. How do we do that?

We need to trust ourselves to find what's real for us. Trusting ourselves helps us understand our experiences and our true feelings and vice versa. It helps us to make sense of things and find out what's important to us.

To gain self-trust, we need to understand why we lack it. Sometimes we learn not to trust ourselves when we're kids, because the world can be unreliable. We need to find out how we lost trust in ourselves and why we keep doing it.

Therapy and meditation can help us see how our past affects our actions and find new ways to deal with old issues. Being in good places or relationships can also help us trust ourselves.

Sometimes, we might feel pressure to fit in with certain people (or places). They may provide us with easy answers instead of encouraging us to trust ourselves. It's important to be aware of such influences as they form part of our deeper truth. Believing in ourselves can be challenging and requires courage. However, treating ourselves kindly can help us treat others the same way. Trusting ourselves is the first step towards being true to ourselves.

Some questions here:

  • How can we make more places that let us be ourselves, take a break, find meaning, and ask questions?
  • How can we make communities that celebrate everyone's unique purpose?

Why am I telling you all this?

Your experience and your story are unique. Your career path is unique too.

I recently completed the "Storytelling for Businesses" program by Black Meteor, designed to guide and shape the way you tell your business's story, both in the words you use and in the way you present yourself, based on your life and work experience. It was magical. You can learn more about this workshop here.

How to make smarter bets and achieve extraordinary results

Okay, I've got the new bestseller by Ilya Strebulaev and Alex Dang on how to apply venture capital principles to work and life.

If you are in VC, you might find it familiar, but if you are outside of VC, it might provide many fresh ideas and insights on how a venture mindset can help you become a champion in many areas of your life.

Venture Capital investors, who backed major companies like Amazon and Google, have a unique way of thinking called The Venture Mindset. They're not afraid to fail, they search for the best ideas, they encourage different opinions, and they think long-term. This mindset helps leaders come up with many ideas, make quicker, smarter choices, and deliver more value.
